Hello my loves, good morning! This past Monday I had a special event in Belo Horizonte, Skazi’s Winter 2019 fashion show at Mineirão. I was honored to be part of this important moment for a brand that I admire a lot!
The fashion show was huge and celebrated Skazi’s 25th anniversary, and the collection showed the brand’s new positioning statement: women’s empowerment. The inspiration came from the story of Lily Parr, the English athlete who made female soccer a reality on the beginning of 20th century.
That’s the reason why Mineirão was the ideal choice for location! The streetwear trend, elegantly done, was the collection’s highlight. We’ve seen many hits, such as the biker shorts and oversized sleeves. Geometric pattern, plaid and pied-de-poule were seen in an unusual way, reinterpreting soccer’s uniforms back in the days.
Many colors and fabrics, such as sequins, bring back the glamour of the Belle Époque. The colors, from the classic black and white to neon, guarantee the boldness of the looks. Every detail comes together to create the image of the Skazi women, that is strong, feminine, modern and elegant.
Another highlight of the show, was the collaboration with the medical center Mário Penna, to honor Pink October. Women who had breast cancer walked down the runway wearing an exclusive t-shirt, designed for the cause and with profits to be destined to the medical center. It’s an amazing initiative to raise awareness for such an important cause and to value the self-esteem of the patients.

I was in love with the collection and its concept! I cannot wait to wear everything next Winter.
And you, what did you think?
Bisou, bisou.
